About the Author
Jose J. Ruiz
Jose J. Ruiz advises organizations on leadership, talent, and governance from the inside of the boardroom, not from theory alone.
Jose J. Ruiz leads Alder Koten as CEO and Managing Partner, where his work centers on helping companies align their leadership teams with strategy, culture, and growth. Across more than two decades spent guiding companies on how they organize and select talent, he has partnered with multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, and family-run enterprises to build leadership capability that lasts.
He also chairs Anker Bioss, an advisory firm focused on helping organizations build decision-making capability in environments that keep shifting in complexity. That work extends the same core concern that runs through this book: matching capability to the real demands of the work rather than to appearances.
Ruiz brings particular depth in corporate governance and organizational development, with an emphasis on family enterprises and technology-driven companies. He sits on multiple boards and chairs compensation committees in the United States and Mexico, advising directly on executive pay, succession, and board effectiveness.
He also chairs Conscious Capitalism Mexico, reflecting a long-standing conviction that businesses should be run with purpose and accountability to more than a single stakeholder. His academic background pairs an engineering degree earned in Mexico with a graduate degree in organizational leadership from the United States, and he works bilingually in English and Spanish with leaders navigating governance and transformation.
